Blankets for the Newburgh Ministry
Blankets are being solicited for the homeless and those in shelters.  Gently used
blankets are welcome.  You can also find blankets at Wal-Mart (“The Essential
Blanket”) for $5.00 which are suitable for donation.

Blanket the World with Love
Please join us by donating to the Church World Service Blanket program.  Just
$5.00 will supply a blanket to anyone devastated by a disaster or just in need of
a warm blanket.  These blankets can be used for beds, shelters, clothing, and in
various other ways.  All contribution amounts are welcome.   Cards are available
for those who wish to dedicate their blanket donation as a gift.   Please see
Donna Niblo for additional information.
Remember the Food Pantry
This is the time of year when we are especially reminded of how many blessings we
have, blessings we often take for granted. One of these is the ability to look in our
cupboards and refrigerators and find something for our next meal. Many of our
neighbors are not so fortunate. Although we receive food donations all year round,
we make a special effort to support our local food pantry during Advent. The need
is greater than ever before. Food pantries are becoming strained as a major source
of nourishment for families that had never needed assistance before. The food
delivered to “Operation Compassion” food pantry is located at the Solid Rock
Church in New Windsor. Please remember to donate. Some suggestion:

*  pasta/rice *  soup/crackers/cookies * cereal (hot or cold) * peanut butter/jelly
Powdered milk is always needed.  Your donations are greatly appreciated.
Habitat for Humanity Cards
The Crafters’ Group is working on this year’s Habitat for Humanity
fundraiser.  This year’s card/ornament features a church window (“A
window of Hope”) and we hope to have them available during the first
week of December.  Suggested donation will be $6.00.
Please see any crafter to reserve yours.
Remember, quantities are limited.
New Opportunity for Youth and Young at Heart:

The Walk for Housing, Sunday, April 22: If you are interested in
walking or sponsoring a walker, please contact Paul Korykora at 534-
8667.  Registration is 1:30PM and the 5K walk begins at 2PM with a
Kick-off Rally.  This is the 13th year of the Walk and CPC has been a
proud supporter of this event.  Let’s get a Walker Team together (we
only need 5 or more walkers) and make strides for this great cause!
Funds collected help support Habitat for Humanity of Greater
Newburgh, which is dedicated to providing safe, decent, affordable
housing in partnership with local, hard-working families in need.
